The City of Füssen announces that the first phase of construction for the new Füssen Central Bus Terminal (ZOB) will begin in September 2026:
- Starting September 14: Setup of the construction site
- September 17: Official groundbreaking
The first construction phase will be completed by May 2027 and will extend from the new bus roundabout at the rear of the ZOB to approximately the center of the current bus station:
- Civil engineering work in the area of the new bus roundabout,
- Clearing and preparing the construction site,
- Construction of the park-and-ride facility,
- Construction of the bus parking lots
- Construction of new sidewalks and bike paths
During construction, a modified traffic route (one-way system) will be necessary in the area of Von-Freyberg-Straße and Sonnenstraße, so traffic disruptions are to be expected in this area.
The second construction phase will begin in the summer of 2027. It will extend from the center of the ZOB to Bahnhofstraße.
